We're Not Alone: Recent Pro-Trans Protests in the U.S.

  • Mar. 29, 2023: 19 protesters were arrested at the Kentucky capitol for protesting Kentucky Senate Bill 150, which sought to prohibit medical treatment of transgender youths and restrict bathroom access. 

  • Mar. 31, 2023: QueerYouthAssemble host a national, 50-state protest for trans rights on Transgender Day of Visibility. 

  • May 2, 2023: Pro-trans activists were evicted from the Texas Capitol for protesting against Texas Senate Bill 14 which would prohibit transgender kids from accessing puberty blockers and hormone therapy. 

  • Sept. 14, 2024: First Gender Liberation March in Washington D.C. Hosted by the Gender Liberation Movement, this protest had 2,000+ participants. 

  • Nov. 12, 2024: Protest held at Michigan State University against anti-trans swimmer Paula Scanlan. 

  • Dec. 4, 2024: Protests outside the U.S. Supreme Court as they consider the Tennessee Senate Bill 1 prohibiting medical treatments for minors diagnosed with gender dysphoria. 

  • Dec. 5, 2024: Activists, including Chelsea Manning and Raquel Willis, hold bathroom protest on Capital Hill.

  • Jan. 28, 2025: LGBTQIA+ protest at anti-trans politician U.S. representative Seth Moulton's town hall event in Peabody, MA.

  • Feb. 10, 2025: Protestors interrupted and stopped an anti-trans speaking event by Olivia Krolczyk at Northern Michigan University. 

  • Feb. 13, 2025: After 600+ people signed a petition against a speaking event by anti-trans author Helen Joyce at Balliol College, activists staged a walk-out of their speaking event. 

  • Feb. 14, 2025: Activists gathered in Christopher Park, New York City at the Stonewall National Monument, to protest Trump's administration removing all mention of transgender people from the webpage for the monument commemorating the Stonewall Riots. 

  • Feb. 23, 2025: Protest held outside anti-trans Maine representative Laurel Libby's home. 

  • Mar. 3, 2025: Pro-trans, pro-Ukraine, and pro-Palestine protesters line the streets in Waitsfield Vermont. 

  • Mar. 28, 2025: Trans Visibility Protest in Minneapolis, Minnesota. 

  • Mar. 31, 2025: Trans Day of Visibility rally in Washington D.C.

  • Apr. 5, 2025: Trans Liberation Now! Rally hosted in Hollywood, California by the Los Angeles LGBT Center.
